Five of this, Five of that

In replacement of Ten on Tuesday, I will share with you first five things you probably did not know about me, followed by five things I am thankful for (in the spirit of Thanksgiving- the only day I will express gratitude out of the entire year).

I was inspired to share with you five secret shames, because of the blog postsecret, that Joanna has talked about before. As I have read other people's secrets, I realized I don't really have any. But I did my best to come up with five things that I should be ashamed of. And instead of feeling shame, I chose to share with you via the world wide web.

1. When I am home alone and use a knife to butter/mayonnaise something, I will lick the knife when I am done & love every second of it.
2. I floss my teeth when I am driving.
3. If I am laying in bed and I pick my nose, sometimes I will just roll it up and flick it on the floor if I know I will vacuum the next day. Other times I will get to get a kleenex. Never will I eat them. Though the thought has crossed my mind.
4. Although I don't do it (often), I would still not be opposed to biting my toes if the need arose.
5. If I had to choose one word that I wanted people to use to describe me, it would be "funny." That or just call me Princess Super Smart Beautiful Awesome One.

And now for five things I am thankful for.

1. My family- even though they are far way, I am thankful for all of them. The more I age and acquire infinite wisdom, the more I love and appreciate my family.
2. My great friends- near and far. I mean, hello, I do have really great friends all over the globe & am thankful for all of them. I miss my far away friends, and always have a good ol' time with my friends here.
3. My job & being able to start grad school again. I love the babies and the fact that I will have the time and finances to put myself through a master's program without any loans. What a job.
4. Being able to live on my own, my apartment and everything in it. I love my TV,  couches, books, bed, closet... I like my whole house! (Call me Jessica)
5. God's grace. Even when I can be lazy, apathetic & self-serving- God still loves me and continues to give me purpose. I am thankful that he loves us all enough to be Emmanuel- God with us. That he chooses to use us, change us, love us, and dwell among us. I am thankful that he is bigger than sin and death, and that he is light in the darkness and enough to meet all our needs.

So there you have it! Now you know my shames and my thanks.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Eat until you throw up a little.

  1. Thanks for sharing dog and I plan on eating so much that I can't move besides just rolling around to get from room to room.

  2. Happy Fanksgiving to you, far away friend, and I hope it's a fabulous day for you, too! I'm gonna go do a Thanksgiving post of my own right now. :)

  3. That is extremely disturbing because I have seen you nibble on your toes first hand. It's time to remove that from your list of shame to the list of NEVER EVER DO AGAIN. Much like eating boogers.
