2. I saw Inception finally at the cheap theater here. It was great! Probably in the top 5 best movies I have ever seen. Seriously a good one.
3. I really hate getting up early, but the one perk of driving East at that too-early-to-want-to-be-awake hour is that the sun is rising as I'm driving into it. This morning the whole sky was orange and pink and looked like a picture. It was rather beautiful and even distracted me from trying to hit the workers.
4. So I've decided that is intrinsically hard-wired into human nature to want what we can't have. Case in point: In a room full of a million toys and things to do, the babies will all try over and over again to play with the three things that they are not supposed to. What is it about not being able to have something that makes people try to get to it harder? I blame Eve. That peckerhead.
5. I have read 4 books in the last 4 days. Hey-o. I read the last 4 books in the Chronicles of Narnia series. Love them. Love Aslan. They are a super easy read, plus not watching tv at night & reading during nap times really let me fly right through them.
6. I am about half way through with Christmas shopping. Trying to space it out between a few paychecks. What a responsible, awesome adult I am.
7. For Thanksgiving, one of my responsibilities is the mashed potatoes. A task I take on with great seriousness and hoping to the heavens that they turn out marvelously. I will think of you Joanna as I peel potato after potato, laboring in love.
8. I have gained some pounds. 5 to be exact, and it makes my pants a little more snug than I would like. But it is so hard to care in the winter when you have to wear layers of warm clothes. I suppose as long as I can still fit in an airplane seat and bathe myself independently, I won't worry about it until Spring.
9. I've been listening to some Christmas music, and of course everybody knows Away in a Manger, but I hadn't really paid attention to the words much. The last part goes,
Be near me, Lord Jesus,
I ask Thee to stay,
Close by me forever,
and love me, I pray
Bless all the dear children
in Thy tender care
And take us to heaven,
to Live with Thee there.
I like that.
10.My birthday is less than a month away, and I will be composing a list of 25 things I would like to do when I'm 25. So be on the look out for that. I'm sure it will make your day.
These mashed potatoes are so creamy.
ReplyDeleteSteph, Guy Lombardo didn't play the clarinet.
ReplyDeleteThanks for thinking of me and potatoes. A picture of mashed potatoes and gravy is the background on my phone right now. About Inception, I liked it as well. I think I need to see it 3 more times to really wrap my mind around it.
How are things going with all those babies?
ReplyDeleteThat's a good song.
I will definitely be on the look out for that. A blog I follow just did this for her 35 years old self. Maybe I'll do it when I'm 30.
